1. Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents "Mojo," a comedy about the British music business at the beginning of rock 'n' roll, now in previews and opening Dec. 8.

2. Q101's Twisted III, featuring Korn, Violent Femmes, Weezer, Stabbing Westward, Gravity Kills, Sheryl Crow, the Wallflowers, Fiona Apple and Bloodhound Gang, is Sunday at the Rosemont Horizon.

3. Tom Mula, who plays Scrooge in the Goodman Theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol," presents a dramatic reading of his novel, Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol, on Monday.

4. The Joffrey Ballet's "The Nutcracker" runs through Dec. 8 at the Rosemont Theatre.

5. About Face Theatre presents "The Gift," a contemporary adaptation of O. Henry's classic holiday story, opening Monday at Famous Door Theatre.

6. ETA Theatre presents "Sasha Sings Dinah," with Sasha Daltonn in an intimate portrait of songstress Dinah Washington, opening Thursday at ETA Square.

7. The Lamb's Farm Holiday Art, Craft and Folk Show begins Thursday at the Rosemont Convention Center.

8. " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas," a production for children, opens Monday at the Picwick Theatre.

9. DuBiel Productions presents "The Pack Is Back," with 25 classics of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis and Dean Martin, opening Tuesday at Piper's Alley.

10. The Lyric Opera of Chicago presents "Salome" and "Un Re in Ascolto" at the Civic Opera House.

11."Explorations '96: The Chicago Calligraphy Collective's Exhibition" is on display through Jan. 4 at the Newberry Library.

12. Annoyance Theatre presents "A Charlie Brown Christmas," the story of the lovable loser as he searches for the true meaning of the holiday, through Dec. 28.
