Former Soundgarden lead singer Chris Cornell arrives in town for a 7:30 p.m. Nov. 23 show at the Riverside Theatre, 116 W. Wisconsin Ave. Tickets, at $23.50, go on sale today at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster, phone charge at (414) 276-4545 and the Riverside box office, (414) 224-3000.

Cornell recently released a new album on A&M Records, "Euphoria Morning." Soundgarden disbanded in 1997.

The following shows were recently booked into The Rave, 2401 W. Wisconsin Ave:

Merl Saunders & the Rainforest Band with Melvin Seals, with Joules Graves opening, comes to The Rave Oct. 13 ($10); rap pranksters Bloodhound Gang team up with Goldfinger, with openers Showoff and Hippos, Oct. 15 ($14); funk-founder George Clinton and Parliament- Funkadelic bring the mothership to the Eagles Ballroom Oct. 20 ($20); Local H and Chevelle stop in The Rave on Oct. 21 ($12.50); Widespread Panic plays Oct. 24 in the ballroom ($20); The Resurrection Tour (Mission U.K., Gene Loves Jezebel and Mike Peters) heads into The Rave on Oct. 26 ($14); My Life with Thrill Kill Kult stops in The Rave Oct. 30 ($13); ska band Mustard Plug pairs off with the Benjamins for a Rave show Nov. 7 ($10).

All of the shows start at 8 p.m., with tickets now available through Ticketmaster, phone charge and the Rave box office, (414) 342- 0300.

A Nov. 2 show by Queens of the Stone Age has been canceled. A Rave official said no information was available on why the show was dropped. Refunds can be obtained at the point of purchase.
